On November 1, 2015, Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas conducted the ceremony for the laying of a new church in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the village of Satys. The village has over three thousand residents, and the new spacious church is necessary for a full parish life, as the existing church can no longer accommodate all those wishing to participate in the services. It was decided to build a wooden church designed for five hundred people, based on a project that has already been used for the construction of several churches in Nizhny Novgorod. The new church will become the main place for services, while two other planned buildings will serve for non-liturgical activities, including an educational center and a Sunday school.
