On March 25, 2010, a ceremony was held to lay the first stone of the church's foundation. Archbishop Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, Mayor Viktor Portnov, and benefactors placed a capsule with a certificate and a commemorative plaque to mark this event. On August 14, 2018, Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas conducted the rite of the Great Consecration of the church. Although the church is designed for 300 people, it can accommodate up to 500 worshippers.
