Church of Seraphim of Sarov in Belozery

Фото 1
The church dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov in the village of Belozery is the third in the history of this settlement. Both previous churches were also wooden. The last church was built in 1892 in Starodvoryanovka, as the village was previously called, and two years later its only altar was consecrated in honor of Archangel Michael. In the 1930s, the wooden church was destroyed, likely dismantled for building materials. Parish life in the village resumed in 2010 when services began to be held in a converted office building in the center of the village. At the same time, the construction of a new wooden church began, the foundation of which was laid ten years ago thanks to the efforts of benefactor I.V. Anufriev and other residents of Belozery. In the autumn of 2012, the first Divine Liturgy was held in the newly built church.
