A new church has been built in Murom in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov. Its consecration took place on August 24, 2005, conducted by Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal. The church houses a revered icon of St. Seraphim with a particle of his relics enclosed in a pectoral cross. This icon was created in 2003 by the sisters of the Seraphimo-Diveevo Monastery and was transferred to the Murom Spaso-Transfiguration Monastery to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the saint's glorification.
