In 1886, a single-altar wooden church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary was built, covered with iron. In the same year, a parish school began operating, and in 1893, a church singing school for girls was opened. The wooden school was located next to the church. In 1891, the parish collected funds to help those affected by the crop failure. Orthodox Christians also donated to the construction of Russian churches and monasteries in Jerusalem.

By 1914, the church was served by priests Andrei Bogomolov and Stefan Shirokov, deacon Alexei Rodionov, and deacon-psalmist Simeon Kovalevsky, as well as psalmist Ioann Gavrilov.

In 1936, the church was still active, but it was soon closed. On July 11, 1943, believers from Frolovo and the Grachi hamlet requested to open the church or a prayer house, and on July 20, they were granted permission. On Easter, May 15-16, 1944, 1500 people attended the church. 2400 rubles were collected for the defense fund. From July 1943 to May 1944, priests and parishioners raised 22683 rubles for "the construction of tanks, airplanes, and generally for the defense fund," 4450 rubles for "gifts to the army," and 5159 rubles for "providing assistance to the families of red warriors."

Currently, the church has been restored and is active. The parish is multi-clerical, with services held daily.

The parish includes two subsidiary churches in the city of Frolovo: the Panteleimon Church and the Epiphany Church, as well as the Georgievskaya chapel at the city cemetery. The priests also serve the village of Obraztsy, the hamlet of Krasnye Lipki, and the hamlet of Pisarevka.
