The church in the village of Bogorodskoye, built of stone, is sturdy and is named Bogorodskaya. It has three altars: the main one, dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is located in the cold part, while in the warm refectory, the altars of St. Basil the Great are on the right and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on the left. The church was erected in 1775 through the efforts of the parishioners.

According to the church construction charter from 1775, the village of Vasilyevskoye was part of the Lyubim district of the Kostroma diocese and had two wooden churches. Among the revered icons are St. Basil the Great and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Within the parish, there are two stone chapels: one in the village of Ildomskoe, built in 1888 with funds from Petersburg merchant Ivan Fedotov, and the other in the village of Barskoye, erected in 1895 with funds from peasant Ivan Kashkin.

The church land comprises 44 desyatinas and 1048 square fathoms. There is one small stone house serving as a church watchman's lodge, and three wooden houses for the priest, deacon, and church clerk. The church capital in bonds amounts to 9736 rubles and 7 kopecks. The church is situated on a high hill, from which houses descend in two rows to the west: first the church houses, then the peasant houses, giving the village a special beauty. Half a verst to the north of the church flows the winding Ucha River. The parish has 543 men and 663 women.

There are two schools in the parish: a zemstvo school in the village and a literacy school in Barskoye. There is also a church-parish charity and a library at the Vasilyevskoye volost administration. The clergy staff includes a priest and a psalmist, and the parish capital in securities amounts to 9800 rubles and 12 kopecks.
