Built in 1812 with funds from parishioners, the church was erected on the site of a lost wooden church from the 16th-17th centuries. It is made of stone, has five domes, and a tiered bell tower.

The church has three altars: in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Miracle Worker, as well as the Righteous Ancestors Joachim and Anna.

In the 1930s, the church was closed. During the Soviet era, it housed a grain storage facility.
