The church was built in 1766 with funds from the parishioners. It is made of stone and has five domes. In the 1780s, a tiered bell tower was added. The frescoes of the church were completed in the mid-19th century, and the four-tiered iconostasis dates back to the late 19th to early 20th century.

The church has three altars: in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, the Miracle Worker, and the Righteous Job the Much-Suffering. The icons of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" and the Righteous Job the Much-Suffering were especially venerated.

The church was closed in the 1970s.
