The village of Baskaki is located 17 versts from Vladimir. In 1677, with the funds of landowner Andrei Arsenyev, a church was built in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where a priest, a deacon, and a prosphora baker served. In 1726, the church burned down, and with the funds of Prince Andrei Ivanovich Gundorov, a new wooden church was built, consecrated in honor of the same event.

In 1868, a stone church with a bell tower was erected in Baskaki. It has three altars: in the cold part, in the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and in the warm chapels, in the name of Saint George the Great Martyr and Simeon the God-Receiver. Church documents have been preserved: copies of the metric books since 1807 and confession lists since 1829.

The church has land: half a desyatina of homestead, 2 desyatinas of hayfield, and 10 desyatinas of arable land. There is no plan or land registry for the land. The clergy consists of a priest and a psalmist, who are paid 435 rubles annually. Houses for the clergy have been built at the expense of the community. The parish includes the village of Baskaki and the villages of Rameni and Velisovo, where the clerical records list 398 men and 462 women. A church-parish school operates in the village.
