The 1908 publication "Brief Information about the Monasteries and Churches of the Yaroslavl Diocese" mentions the churches of the village of Spasskoye on Myaksa. There were two churches in the village: a cold stone church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, built in 1810 through the efforts of the parishioners, and a warm stone church of the Nativity of Christ, erected in 1785. There was also an altar dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The church housed the highly revered Kazan Icon. A stone chapel stood on the main road. This information is confirmed by documents from the Poshekhonsk Spiritual Administration from 1833.

Local historian and former teacher of Myaksinskaya Secondary School A.P. Zhdanov left an interesting description related to the church bells. In 1924, due to a bell ringer's mistake, a crack appeared in the main bell, and a new bell was ordered. It was made in Yaroslavl, and in the summer of 1924, it arrived in Cherepovets, as Myaksa did not have its own dock. In the winter of 1925, the bell, weighing 4536 kg, was delivered to Myaksa across the ice of the Sheksna River on ten horses and remained a source of pride for the local residents for a long time.

The stone warm church of the Nativity of Christ has not survived, but from 2004 to 2008, a wooden church with the same dedication was built. The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord is currently not in use but is gradually being restored.
