The village of Kartmazovo is located in the Bolshimurashkinsky district. The Prechensky Church in this village was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage based on the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD. The church dates back to 1868 and has a main cold altar dedicated to the Nativity of John the Baptist, as well as a warm chapel in honor of Saint Tikhon of Amathus. However, according to the data from the Department of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, order No. 5-OD was canceled on October 20, 2014, by order No. 159.
