A small wooden church with one dome and rectangular altar and narthex was consecrated on September 12, 2009, by Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir. On Russia Day, which is a significant holiday for all Russians, the village of Aleshunino in the Murom district became the spiritual center of the Vladimir region. In this picturesque and protected place, Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal consecrated the church dedicated to the Nativity of John the Baptist. The church, built on private donations, became the first functioning one in this corner of Murom land.
