The appearance of the church marked the establishment of a new village. According to tradition, such a church was built in Abramovo, which is considered the time of the village's founding. The tsar gifted five icons to five baptized Mordvins living in the area of modern Abramovo, among which were images of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and John the Warrior. Later, two churches were built on the site of the wooden church, a warm one and a cold one, dedicated to John the Baptist, the angel of Tsar Ivan the Terrible. The village's feast day became the day of the Baptist, celebrated on July 7. The village had two churches, two priests, and two deacons; the clergy owned 45 desyatinas of land and had numerous servants. Abramovo opened the first parish school, where 12-14 students studied. Due to the tuition fees, children from poor families could not attend. In 1879, the parish school was transformed into a zemstvo school. Initially, the school was located in a private house, but by the 1890s, a special building with one classroom was constructed for it. Later, the church on the village's territory was destroyed, and the burials of the clergy nearby were also destroyed. The church was restored and continues to operate.
