The stone Church of the Nativity of Christ in the village of Ust-Katavsky Zavod was likely built between 1799 and 1820 in the classical style and was opened in 1820. In 1847, the church suffered from a fire but was later restored. In 1930, the church was closed; however, thanks to the petition of the faithful that reached M.I. Kalinin, it temporarily returned to their possession. In 1939, the cornice and the 22-meter bell tower were destroyed. In 1940, the church building was converted into a grocery store, which operated for about 50 years. In 1991-1992, the building was handed over to the believers, and restoration work began, actively participated in by artist Andrei Mikhailovich Melnik. On December 17, 1992, the church was consecrated again.

Part of the walls of the old church have survived. The modern church building is essentially rebuilt. It is one-story, about 27 meters long, 18 meters wide, and about 15 meters high. The church is built of stone and brick, with a roof covered in metal and profiled sheeting. The interior walls are plastered and painted. The altar part and the iconostasis were recreated according to the interior volume of the space. The church building is divided into four parts:

1) a part traditionally called the "trapeza," rectangular in plan with a gable roof, but now does not correspond to this name;

2) the temple, the main room of the church, square in plan, rises above the roof of the "trapeza" adjoining from the west; the side of the square is larger than the width of the "trapeza";

3) the altar apse, a semicircular projection to the east of the temple part, newly built on the original foundation;

4) a side northern annex on the site of the former storage room of the store; here are the baptistery and trapeza, and Sunday school classes sometimes take place; the roof of the annex is lower than the northern slope of the "trapeza."

The square superstructure of the temple part serves as the base for a hemispherical dome with a round drum, on which a bulbous head with a cross is installed. Thus, the church is single-domed. The apse, being lower than the square superstructure, is completed with a semi-dome with a drum, head, and cross. The dome and semi-dome are made "in a checkerboard pattern." The windows of the church are rectangular or arched, some have external metal grilles. A.M. Melnik executed the architectural decor at the arched windows of the altar apse. At the main entrance, a metal bell tower with five bells was installed, created by the Ust-Katav Carriage Works. The church, bell tower, and adjacent territory are enclosed by a metal fence on a stone-concrete base with two gates:

1) western brick three-part arched gates with metal leaves and a bulbous head with a cross above them;

2) northern metal gates.
