The Nativity Church in the village of Shaldezhino, also known as Shaldezhka, has a temporary prayer house with an altar dedicated to the Nativity of Christ. This is due to the fact that the wooden church, built in 1868, burned down on the night of December 17 to 18, 1908. A new church was constructed in 1909 with funds from parishioners and support from benefactors. The fence around the church is wooden with stone pillars, and there is a cemetery nearby. It is 370 versts to Kostroma and 80 versts to Varnavino. The nearest churches are the Tikhvin Church in the village of Topan, 8 versts away, and the Pokrovskaya Church in the village of Ovsanyok, 10 versts away.

In 1913, a new wooden church with a wooden bell tower was built on the site of the burned church. However, in the first half of the 20th century, the church was lost, and a residential building now stands in its place. Only a fragment of the gate from the church fence has survived.
