The Church of the Nativity of Christ in the village of Ponomarevo was founded in 1779. It has three altars: the Nativity of Christ, the Beheading of John the Baptist, and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The church land covers 36 desyatins. The parishioners live in seven villages: Ponomarevo, Ivankovo, Polocheninovo, Podvyaznovo, Filino, Kotelnikovo, and Potetyurino. In total, there are 96 houses in these villages, where 382 men and 459 women live.
