The wooden church dedicated to the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ was built in the village of Nikolaevka in 1900. The first service was held in 1903, but the church was destroyed in 1963.

On July 16, 2016, Metropolitan Sergey of Samara and Syzran held a ceremony to bless the cornerstone for the new construction of the Church of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ in the village of Nikolaevka in the Volzhsky district. This event was attended by His Eminence Sergey, the head of the Volzhsky district Alexander Balandin, the head of the administration of the rural settlement of Chernorechye Konstantin Ignatov, and the chairman of the board of directors of the PetRoNeft group of companies Roman Trushev. They signed the cornerstone document, which was then placed in a special capsule and laid in the foundation of the church.
