The parish church of the Nativity of Christ is a five-domed stone temple with a bell tower and fence of the same design. It operates in both summer and winter and is known for its durability. The church has two altars: the main one in the summer temple is dedicated to the Nativity of Christ, while the warm chapel is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The church was built in 1805 with the funds and efforts of the parishioners. In 1905, the winter temple, which was small in capacity, was significantly expanded thanks to donations from various benefactors. Among the especially revered icons are those of the Nativity of Christ, Saint Nicholas, the Mother of God of Vladimir, and the icon of All Who Sorrow and Rejoice.

The church land comprises 92 desyatinas and 360 square fathoms, and there are houses for the priest's residence. The parish has 1,300 men and 1,544 women. In the village of Malakhovo, there is a zemstvo primary school, the building of which is public. The church library is supported by church funds and donations from parishioners, and there is also a sobriety society. The residents of the parish engage in small trade, buying and reselling mainly canvases, linen, tow, hay, meat, livestock, butter, eggs, and mushrooms. In spring, many go to distant districts and neighboring provinces to dye yarn with cube dye. Among the parishioners, there are many framers, carpenters, bristle makers, as well as bricklayers, stone masons, and plasterers. Entire villages are involved in making bundles and stockings from sheep wool. A significant number of parishioners live in the capitals, especially in St. Petersburg and other cities. The clergy consists of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. The parish capital amounts to 1,165 rubles and 77 kopecks in securities.
