According to the state lists of historical and cultural monuments of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Church of the Nativity is located in Kameniщи. The site dates back to 1829, and its acceptance for state protection is recorded in document No. 22. The address calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese for 1904 specifies that this is a stone church with altars: the main, cold altar of the Nativity of Christ, as well as warm chapels, the right one in honor of the great martyr Paraskeva and the left one in honor of the venerable Sergius of Radonezh and martyr Irina.

The book "Saint Venerable Sergius and Nizhny Novgorod Land" states that the stone church of the Nativity of Christ with a bell tower in the village of Kameniщи was built in 1826. In 1892, the church was expanded and rebuilt with funds from the parishioners. Three altars were consecrated in the church: the main one in honor of the Nativity of Christ, in the refectory part, in the name of the holy great martyr Paraskeva and saints Adrian and Natalia, and the right one in the name of the holy venerable Sergius of Radonezh and holy martyr Irina, the left one. In 1904, wall and vault paintings were completed in the church. A wooden chapel was attached to the church on the bank of the P'yana River, consecrated in honor of the holy martyrs Boris and Gleb. Traditionally, parishioners made processions with water blessings from the village to the chapel. By the decree of the Presidium of the Gorky Oblast Executive Committee on November 11, 1938, the church was closed and converted into a club, and it remains in this form today.
