The stone Nativity church, built in 1783, is located in the center of the village of Iskor. Its architectural composition includes a tall single-chamber cube, a five-sided apse, and a low refectory. On the western side, in 1786, a tiered eight-sided bell tower was built over the square porch. The cube and apse are adorned with domes. In 1803, a chapel in honor of Paraskeva Friday was added to the church from the north side, which was expanded in 1899 and became larger than the main church. This year of completion is indicated on the western facade of the building. The chapel has a secular character but is artistically more interesting than the early Nativity church. The low refectory and the church are covered with vaulted ceilings and connected by a raised arch, and their interiors are decorated with numerous decorative elements. The interior is particularly attractive due to the painting. All the vaults, arches, window slopes, walls of the church and refectory were painted in four summer months of 1869 by the icon painter Alexander Ivanovich Melnikov from the village of Usolie. The painting touches on the theme of the Second Coming, and the walls and vaults depict the history of the Gospel events about the earthly life, death, and resurrection of Christ. The multi-figure compositions are complemented by bright floral ornaments.
The church in the village of Iskor was famous for its interesting collection of bells. The largest of them, weighing 133 poods and 35 pounds, was cast in 1859 by the Bakulev brothers in the city of Slobodskoy, Vyatka province. Another bell was made on the order of barge builder Peshekhonov in a Solikamsk workshop and adorned with relief images of Nicholas the Wonderworker, the crucifixion, and inscriptions: “City of Solikamsk, master Vasily Petelin”, “For the glory of God, this bell was cast for the village of Iskor for the Church of the Nativity of Christ in 1805.” The church also had other attractions: a stove with tiles from the 18th century, a wooden lattice door between the porch and the vestibule, wooden sculpture, a five-tiered iconostasis in the main church, and a three-tiered one in the chapel. In June 2004, lightning struck the dome of the bell tower, and a huge glowing column of fire, smoke, and dust erupted from the northern part of the lower tier of the bell, rising into the sky. As a result of the lightning strike, the dome with the onion and cross was completely destroyed, falling to the ground on the southern side of the church. The upper tier of the bell was also completely destroyed, the wall of the octagon of the bell tower was partially damaged on the northern side, and a pile of brick debris lay on the northwestern side of the church.
Currently, the Church of the Nativity of Christ in the village of Iskor is used as a skete of the Holy Trinity-Stefanov Male Monastery.
