The stone Church of the Nativity of Christ, with chapels dedicated to the Nativity of Christ, the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and the holy martyrs Flora and Lavra, was built in 1823. Its construction was made possible by the efforts of local residents and donations from merchant Silantiev. The church had a parish school, two district schools, and a two-class educational institution. In the 1930s, the church building was completely destroyed, and not even photographs or drawings of its former splendor have survived.

On September 5, 2007, at the initiative of the villagers, a founding meeting was held, where the decision to revive the parish was made. Initially, it was planned to convert the remaining school building into a church, but in the winter of 2008, it was decided to build a new church.

On May 30, 2008, a sketch project for the construction was ordered, and after approval from Bishop Theodosius, on October 14, 2008, a construction project by architect N. A. Averochkin was commissioned. On August 3, with the blessing of Bishop Theodosius of Tambov and Michurinsk, a moleben was performed by archpriest Alexey Girich, and the site for the church construction was consecrated. Construction began in 2009. At the site of the old church, where the altar used to be, a cross is now erected. During the warm season, believers gather here on Sundays for prayer. The new church is adorned with five domes and a small bell tower.
