In the village of Berezino, there was a church dedicated to the Nativity of Christ, which was destroyed during the Soviet period. As part of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese's program to provide residents of each locality with places for prayer, a memorial cross was erected in Berezino at the site of the destroyed church.
