Фото 1
One of the largest settlements in the Ryazan district was the Okologorodny stan, which included the village of Shumosh, located by the Oka River. Shumashi is first mentioned as a village in 1629. Presumably, in the late 18th century, the Transfiguration Church was built here according to the design of the provincial architect Sulakadzev. The names of some priests who served in this church are known: Ivan Ivanov Shumovsky, Vasily Yevgrafov Malinin, Ivan Yevdokimov Leonov, and Nikolai Vasilyev Kavalerov. Currently, the rector of the church is Archpriest Vasily Shatskov.
