The Transfiguration Church in the village of Shartanovo is a stone building with a bell tower, built in 1824 with funds from the parishioners. The fence around the church is also made of stone, and the cemetery is located within this fence. The church has three altars dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord, the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.
The church is located 220 versts from Kostroma and 50 versts from Chukhloma.
