The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord is a masterpiece of ancient Russian architecture. In 1966, the church from the village of Kozlyatevo was moved to the Suzdal Museum of Wooden Architecture and Rural Life, where it beautifully fits into the typically Russian landscape of the museum complex.

The cathedral was built by unknown craftsmen in 1756 in the village of Kozlyatevo, Vladimir region, with funds from Yevdokiya Nikitichna Polivanova. These artisans possessed outstanding talent, as they used exclusively wooden elements in the construction. The church is a multi-tiered structure, with three constructions crowned by elegant wooden domes at its center. Two side extensions, dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Simeon the Stylite, also end with smaller domes. The refectory adjoins the western part of the church, surrounded by an open balcony on massive logs.

Inside the church, images of saints created by unknown village artists have been preserved, who used oil paints without prior plastering. The cathedral also retains a carved iconostasis from the 18th century. The interior is complemented by the Royal Gates, adorned with carved images of the Annunciation and the four Evangelists.
