The church was founded in 1869. Local historian M. Khamov described it in his book as a stone, three-altar church, consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The construction was overseen by the local priest Porfiry Petrovich Korinthsky. In 1874 and 1875, two chapels and the refectory were consecrated. A beautiful fence was built around the church, and two bells weighing 100 and 33 poods were acquired. The church housed a magnificent iconostasis and rich church utensils. The main altar in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary was consecrated on September 29, 1891.

In 1888, the parish of the Yazovskaya church had 1,014 men and 1,093 women. The church land comprised 45 desyatins. The church staff included a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist. According to the address calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese for 1904, the parish had 2,588 parishioners, including 1,240 men and 1,348 women. A church school operated at the church, where girls, in addition to religious education, learned household management and sewing. The school functioned alongside a secular school until the church was closed and partially destroyed in 1932.

Before the war, the building was abandoned, and in the 1950s, it was converted into a school, which operated until the 1980s. During this time, due to the mass departure of residents, the village began to decline. Now, in what was once the largest village in the Bolshie Boldino district, only 8 people live, and the village is gradually being overgrown with forest.
