Veryakushi, a village in the Diveevo district, where, according to the register of country estate complexes of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Shcherbakov estate was located. The complex includes a park. By the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the village Intercession Church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church has a main cold altar in honor of the Intercession of the Mother of God and warm chapels: the right, of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the left, of Saint Sergius of Radonezh. The object dates back to 1856. However, order 5-OD lost its force on October 20, 2014, in accordance with order No. 159.

The book "Saint Sergius the Wonderworker and the Nizhny Novgorod Land" states that the village of Veryakushi arose in the mid-16th century on the site of a Mordvin settlement. The first Orthodox churches here were wooden, and the stone church was built in 1856 with the funds of the parishioners. It had three altars: the main one in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, and two chapels in the refectory, in honor of Saint Nicholas of Myra, the Wonderworker, and Saint Sergius of Radonezh. Currently, the Intercession Church has been partially restored. By the mid-19th century, Veryakushi had 49 peasant households and 428 residents, of whom 194 were men. The parish of the local church also included the villages of Vypolzovo and Kuryolovo, and by the end of 1880, there were already 1,437 parishioners of all ages. Before the revolution, a church-parish school operated at the church. Before the abolition of serfdom, the lands and peasants of Veryakushi belonged to five landowners: Kikins, Likhutins, Makarovs, Priklonkins, and Shcherbakovs. On the site of the Kikins estate, a beautiful park and a small pond have been preserved, which are considered a natural monument. Today, the Intercession Church is one of the sketes of the Holy Trinity Seraphim-Diveevo Monastery.
