The winter church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was built in 1741. This rectangular building with extensions is made of brick and features cylindrical vaults. Originally, the temple was adorned with five domes, which were demolished in the 1930s. The window frames stand out prominently against the smooth wall of the church. Unfortunately, the interior decoration has not survived. The square in front of the Kremlin, the trading rows, and the Black Pond served as the public center of the village. Surrounding it are the village streets, forming five rings called posads, which intersect with slobodas. In Veliky, there are still streets built only on one side, so that all houses face the Kremlin. This radial-ring layout is rare for Yaroslavl villages and settlements. During the Soviet era, the church was closed and used as a grain storage facility, but it has now been returned to the faithful.
