The wooden building on a stone foundation with a similar bell tower was built in 1845 with funds from the Department of Estates. The fence around the church was also wooden. The cemetery was located outside the village and was enclosed by a wooden fence. The church had one altar and was dedicated to the Intercession of the Mother of God. It was situated 350 versts from Kostroma and 5 versts from the village of Urenya. The nearest churches were located in the following villages: the Three Saints Church in Urenya 5 versts away, the Nikolayevskaya Church in Goreva 9 versts away, as well as the Trinity Church in Karpovo and the Transfiguration Church in Yelkhovka 16 versts away. The church was lost in the early 1960s.
