The church in the village of Staraia Sosnovka, built of stone along with a bell tower, was erected in 1836 thanks to the efforts of landowner Anastasia Alexandrovna Tepliakova. This is a two-altar temple: the main altar is dedicated to the Intercession of the Mother of God, and the side altar is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The church had a priest and a psalmist, and church houses were provided for the clergy. The parish had both church and zemstvo schools.
In 1933, the church was closed.
Since 1992, the restoration of the church building has begun, which has been recognized as a monument of regional architectural significance.
