The village of Maza, also known as Pokrovskoye, is located in the Lyskovsky district. According to the order of the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage Protection of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region dated April 24, 2000, the rural church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church dates back to the 19th century. However, according to data from the State Heritage Protection Office of the Nizhny Novgorod region, this order lost its validity on October 20, 2014, due to the issuance of a new order. According to information provided by Irina Naumova, this refers to a stone church built in 1810 in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
