The fate of the church in the village of Selitrennoe is quite interesting. In this village, where saltpeter was once mined and processed, the workers had their own church, the name of which has not survived. Later, it was dismantled and moved to the village of Kapanovskaya. In its place, a new wooden church with three altars was built, brought from Astrakhan and consecrated in 1835 in honor of the first martyr Archdeacon Stephen. This church has also been lost to us. Currently, services are held in the remaining building of the former church complex, which was converted into the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God, starting its activities in the village in 1995. For the parishioners, the task of erecting the main symbols of an Orthodox church, the dome and bell tower, remains relevant.
