Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in Sasikoli

In 1811, a prayer house was opened, which was consecrated in 1832 in honor of the Intercession of the Mother of God. The dimensions of the church were 16 meters in length and 6.5 meters in width. Over time, it became cramped for the growing congregation and fell into disrepair.

In 1857, a new church was built and consecrated. It was a single-story wooden building shaped like an elongated cross. Its length was 27.7 meters, width 19 meters, and height 10.5 meters. The roof was tent-shaped, and the church was connected to the bell tower. Inside, there was a four-tiered iconostasis, and there was plenty of church utensils. The church was regularly repaired, which allowed it to be maintained in good condition. In 1870, a wooden fence on stone pillars was built around the church, and in 1882, a new bell was acquired.

In the 1930s, the church was closed, and the bell tower and domes were demolished. Until 2006, the building housed a club, while the remaining church watchman's lodge was used as a storage room. From the 1950s to the 1980s, it alternately housed a savings bank, a shooting range, a bar, and a children's art school.

Since 2006, the church has been reopened for believers.
