The village of Pokrovsk, located in the Semenov urban district, was previously part of the Semenov district. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the rural Pokrovsk church was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. The church dates back to 1851. However, according to the Administration of State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the action of order 5-OD was terminated on October 20, 2014, by order No. 159.
