The church with a single dome and bell tower was built in 1682 by the nobleman Meshcherinov. It houses four altars: the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Nicholas, the Prophet Elijah, and Saint John the Warrior.
There are no miraculous icons in the church, but two ancient gospels have been preserved: one dated 1688 and the other 1771, as well as two altar crosses with relics of saints from the same period.
Locals say that the iron cross on the church, the royal gates, and one of the bells were brought here by Meshcherinov from the Solovetsky Monastery after its destruction in 1681.
The church hosts seven processions. It owns 36 desyatinas of land, and the parish consists of three villages.
