The parish in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Pavlovo was founded in 1998 with the blessing of Metropolitan Nikolai Kutepov, the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese. It is located on the southern outskirts of the city, near the city cemetery, on the territory of the natural monument "Dendropark of Pavlovsky Leshoz." The first rector of the parish was Priest Vyacheslav Orlov, and regular services began here in 1999. In 2001, the construction of a wooden church began, which, unfortunately, burned down in 2003 when the construction was nearly complete. However, thanks to the efforts of local residents, the church was restored in December 2004, and services resumed in January 2005. The church blends well into the surrounding park. Currently, the community has about 100 members. Since 2000, the rector of the parish has been Priest, now Archpriest, Arseniy Yerzaulov.
