Panino, a village in the Sosnovsky district, is home to the Intercession Church, a monument of urban planning and architecture, included in the "State Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Nizhny Novgorod Region." The church dates back to 1814 and is protected by the state according to document No. 286. The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was built between 1814 and 1817 on the site of a small chapel, primarily funded by Count D.P. Sheremetev, who acquired the village after the 1812 war. The parish included 22 villages, and according to the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" in 1904, 4 villages. The village also had a parish school. Here, the famous native of the village, Nadezhda Suslova, began her education, baptized in the Panino church. In her honor, a memorial plaque was installed on the church, the main street of the village bears her name, and a local history museum was opened in the local school with materials about the Suslov family.

In the 1930s, the church was looted and destroyed, giving it an unusual appearance that has survived to this day. In 1998, the ruins of the church were handed over to the Orthodox Church, and restoration work began with the funds of parishioners and residents of Russia. Since the autumn of 1999, services have resumed in the church, and restoration continues to this day.
