The village of Obukhovo is located in the Pervomaisky District. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the rural Intercession Church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage. The church has altars, the main one dedicated to the Intercession of the Mother of God, as well as a chapel of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. The church dates back to 1876. However, order No. 5-OD was revoked on October 20, 2014, according to order No. 159. In 2011, the temple was in an emergency state, threatening its collapse, with a noticeable deviation of the load-bearing walls to the south.
