The ancient church, consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is located in the village of Novokamenskoe. The stone complex was built in the first half of the 19th century.
The architectural appearance of the ensemble is characterized by the predominance of baroque elements. The central church has the shape of a classic quadrilateral with a massive spherical dome topped with a head on a secondary drum. To the east, there is a small apse, and to the west, the refectory. Previously, a bell tower adjoined the refectory, which, according to local residents, was destroyed during the Soviet era when the parish was closed and the buildings were handed over to the collective farm. The exterior decoration features elements of masonry decor, such as a wide cornice, pilasters at the corners, and window frame moldings.
Currently, the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is abandoned and is deteriorating more each year: the roof has collapsed, the masonry is crumbling, and a large part of the interior decoration has been lost. Restoration work is not planned in the near future.
