The village of Novo-Yedelevo is located in the Gagin district and belonged to the Decembrist I.A. Annenkov. Here stands a monument of urban planning and architecture, the Intercession Church, dated 1871. The status of the monument was officially confirmed by order No. 4-OD on May 12, 1999. In the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, the church built in 1871 is mentioned as wooden. The main altar of the church is dedicated to the Intercession of the Mother of God, while the chapels are dedicated to the Nativity of John the Baptist and Saint Blaise the Martyr. However, to this day, a stone church has been preserved, which may indicate an error in the "Address Calendar" or that the wooden structure soon deteriorated or burned down and was replaced by a stone one after 1904.
