Lenin is a village in the Arzamas district, previously known as Svoroboyarskoye. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the village's Intercession Church was recognized as a site of historical and cultural heritage. The church dates back to 1843. However, according to the Administration for the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, this order lost its validity on October 20, 2014, in accordance with order No. 159. According to the 'Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese' from 1904, the church has altars: the main, cold altar of the Intercession of the Mother of God, as well as warm chapels: the right one dedicated to Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, and the left one to All Saints.
