The Transfiguration Church in the village of Korovnovo, unfortunately, has not survived. It was wooden and built in 1767 with funds from the parishioners. Next to it was the stone Intercession Church, with a bell tower built in 1792 by the peasant Markell Makarov with the support of local residents. Both churches were surrounded by a wooden fence with stone pillars, and the cemetery was located nearby. The wooden Transfiguration Church had one altar dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord. The stone church had two altars: one in the cold part in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, and the other in the warm part, in the name of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The wooden church attracted the attention of archaeologists for its external and internal structure as a monument of antiquity. To the right of the altar was a burial place where the body of the builder and founder of the former monastery at this site, the Venerable Alexander Vochsky, rested, to whom the local residents held special respect.
