The first inhabitants of the village, who moved from the Voronezh province in 1819, were deeply religious Christians and could not be satisfied with the temporary prayer house they brought with them. Therefore, they began to advocate for the construction of a stone church in the Novo-Kardailovskaya sloboda. On May 21, 1829, a decision was made to erect a new brick church. The construction progressed quickly, considering the resources and means of that time. By September 27, 1833, a petition was submitted for the consecration of the built church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and on March 30, 1835, the new church in the village of Kardailovo was consecrated.

In 1933, the church in Kardailovo was closed and partially destroyed. In the late 1990s, the building, which had fallen into disrepair, was handed over to the community. In 1998, restoration work began, and by October 2009, the external restoration work was nearly completed. The church regained its historical appearance.
