The stone church dedicated to the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with chapels in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the prophet Elijah, was built in the village from 1818 to 1825 with funds from local parishioners and landowners from Kalinovka and Maryevka.

The church, featuring a single dome, a spacious narthex, and a bell tower, was constructed according to the design of architect A.A. Mikhailov. The bricks for the construction were made on-site, fired with resin, and lime mixed with raw eggs was used for the masonry. With the arrival of Soviet power, the church was desecrated and closed; at various times, it housed a grain warehouse and a repair and tractor workshop. In 1946, at the request of the faithful, services were resumed in the church, and it was re-equipped and furnished with church utensils by the parishioners.

Today, the Intercession Church continues to operate.
