On October 14, 2009, in the village of Bulgakovo, on the day of its patronal feast, a new church was opened and consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin. The church complex includes a two-light square base with an octagonal section, topped with a dome-shaped roof and an onion-shaped cupola on a slender neck. To the east, an elongated altar apse adjoins the main building, while to the west, there is a small refectory and bell tower.

Currently, the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin is operational, with regular services held. The area around the church is fenced with a metal fence and landscaped. A Sunday school operates at the church, located in the former building of a school dormitory.

The village of Bulgakovo is first mentioned in diocesan records from 1911, which state that the church was built in 1899 with funds from parishioners. The stone Intercession church with a bell tower was destroyed in the 1930s.
