The church was built in 1821 according to a project by an unknown but talented architect. In the 1930s, the church was closed for services, and now it is in a state of neglect and partially destroyed.

In the last years before its closure, the church was served by Hieromonk Irakliy, who was arrested in 1932 and sentenced to 8 years in prison. After his early release, he served in Ulyanovsk as an archimandrite, but in 1937 he was arrested again and sentenced to execution.

The church is located on the eastern side of the village street, oriented from north to south. A wide rectangular refectory with cut corners adjoins the main cylindrical volume of the church, along with a small elegant bell tower. The two-tiered rotunda of the church features arched windows and is topped with a low spherical dome. The rounded edges of the side altars of the one-story refectory embrace the western part of the rotunda and adjoin the two-tiered bell tower. The main building material of the church is brick measuring 27x13x7 cm.

The first tier of the bell tower is designed as a wall portico with four half-columns of the Ionic order and a triangular pediment. It consists of a square base with an arched entrance and small rooms, one of which contains a staircase. The upper tier of the bell tower is square-shaped with four columns supporting the ceiling, decorated with triple half-columns at the corners.

The facades of the church are decorated with rustication that rises to the level of the archivolts of the arched windows of the refectory. The upper part of the walls between the windows is adorned with wreaths. A horizontal beam runs at the level of the arches of the openings, and round rosettes are located in the spandrels. A wide entablature encircles all parts of the church at the same height. The drum of the dome with eight openings is decorated with a cornice. The western entrance has a portico with four half-columns of the Ionic order and a triangular pediment, adorned with profiles and small decorative elements. The columns of the upper tier of the bell tower are decorated with triple half-columns supporting the crowning cornice. The bell tower is topped with a low quadrangular dome. Special attention is given to the details of the western entrance and the bell tower. The space under the bell tower is covered with a ribbed vault with ribs and is flanked by two oval rooms, one of which contains a spiral staircase, while the other is connected to a niche in the southwestern corner of the refectory.
