The village of Alexino, located on the Toshma River, is 17 versts from the district town and 110 versts from the provincial center.

The land records from 1628 and 1629 mention a wasteland belonging to the boyar Ivan Vasilyevich Morozov, where the village of Alexino on the Toshma River previously existed. This suggests that Alexino existed as early as the 16th century, and its desolation may have been caused by the Lithuanian devastation in the early 17th century. By the end of the 17th century, the village was restored, and its population significantly increased, as confirmed by the census books of 1678, where Alexino is listed under the boyar Prince Mikhail Yuryevich Dolgoruky. The village had a boyar's court, 2 yards of household people, 29 peasant yards, 15 widowed yards, and 1 empty yard; a total of 147 men lived there.

The church in Alexino was built in 1674 by the landowner widow Stefanida Semyonovna Morozova and consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church paid a tribute of 21 altyn to the patriarchal treasury. In 1678, a priest named Fyodor served at the church.

A century later, in 1779, a new wooden church was built in Alexino, which lasted until 1826. In the same year, thanks to the efforts of the parishioners, a stone temple was erected, which still exists today. The temple has three altars: in the cold part in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the chapels in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity and in the name of Saint Dmitry of Rostov.

The church is insufficiently equipped with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books due to a lack of funds. Church documents, including copies of metric books from 1801 and confession lists from 1839, are kept in order. There is no special clergy at the church; services and sacraments are conducted by the clergy from the village of Spasskoye. Its maintenance receives 235 rubles from arable and haymaking land and grain collection, as well as 103 rubles from services and sacramental corrections, totaling 338 rubles per year.

The church lands include 3 desyatinas of homestead land and 33 desyatinas of arable and haymaking land; however, there is no plan or land survey book for this land. The parish includes the village of Alexino and the village of Novoselki, located 1 verst from the church, where the clerical records list 198 men and 262 women, all Orthodox.
