The building was constructed, presumably, in the late 19th century and belonged to the treasury of the Naryshkin family. It was not used as a church. During the Soviet period, it housed a school, but the exact date of its closure is unknown.

In early 2002, a major renovation was carried out to adapt the building for use as a church. The grand consecration took place on September 1, 2002, when Metropolitan Simon of Ryazan and Mikhailov consecrated it in honor of the Intercession of the Mother of God.
