One of the first buildings in the classical style in Soligalich is the cemetery church located outside the city. Its construction dates back to 1813, although some sources indicate 1815. The church was built with funds from merchants Pyotr Dunaev and Andrey Mironov based on a project signed by provincial architect N.I. Metlin and approved by Kostroma Bishop Sergey on June 19, 1812. The church project is kept by the priest. The Holy Gates on the western side and the cemetery fence were built in the second half of the 19th century with funds from merchant N.V. Sobennikov.

The church is a brick plastered building with a longitudinal axial composition, including a single-domed church with a narrower and lower apse, a refectory of equal width, and a three-tiered bell tower. The corners of the church, the elongated apse, and the refectory are rounded. The church is adorned with an onion dome with a scale-like covering, set on a wooden octagonal drum, which stands on a two-tiered octagonal wooden base. The tiers of the bell tower have a square plan, and the upper tier has slightly rounded corners. The bell tower is topped with a small drum and a high spire. The facades of the church are characterized by simplicity. The southern and northern facades feature three rectangular windows, with the middle northern window converted into a doorway, and horizontal niches above. The profiled cornice crowns the building above the rounded corners. Similar windows and cornices are present on the apse and refectory. The bell tower has more expressive forms. Its lower tier is decorated with arched niches and wide panelled pilasters at the corners of the facades. The entrances on the western and northern sides are adorned with large gabled canopies on metal lace brackets. The second tier is distinguished by triangular pediments and semicircular niches. The upper tier is pierced with arched openings for the bells with wedge-shaped locks and is decorated with pilasters. Each tier is crowned with a profiled cornice.

The square of the church is covered with a low vaulted ceiling with a small opening for the upper part of the iconostasis on the eastern side. The apse has a semi-vaulted ceiling with openings above the windows. A wide arched opening connects the church with the refectory, which is covered with a barrel vault. Above the windows and the opening in the church are cheek openings. The first tier of the bell tower features a barrel vault with an opening above the northern entrance. A brick staircase is built into the southern wall leading to the second tier, and above it is a wooden staircase. The walls and vaults of the church are plastered and whitewashed. Inside the church is a carved gilded two-tiered iconostasis with three rows of icons. The first and second rows are united by twisted columns decorated with grapevines. Similar, but smaller columns separate the icons of the third row, completed with three-lobed arches. The Royal Gates are adorned with carvings featuring plant ornaments.

The three-bay arched Holy Gates and square pillars of the fence are made of brick and plastered. The middle opening of the gates is larger and ends with a keel-shaped arch topped with an onion dome. A metal grille with a mesh pattern is installed between the pillars.
