In the "Address Calendar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese" for 1904, two churches are mentioned in the village of Shutilovo: a wooden church built in 1798, with altars of the Protection of the Mother of God on the lower floor and of the apostles Peter and Paul on the upper, as well as a stone church of Archangel Michael, constructed in 1836. Currently, only one semi-ruined stone church remains in the village.

According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the village's Peter and Paul Church was recognized as an object of historical and cultural heritage, dated to the early 20th century. However, order 5-OD was revoked on October 20, 2014, by order No. 159, as reported by the State Heritage Protection Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Near Shutilovo, on the slope of the right bank of the Alatyr River, there is a natural monument, a complex of four springs called "Nikola." In 2006, a chapel was built here, and the surrounding area was improved.
